Centre Stage Engineering is a leading force in the stage engineering industry, delivering innovative mechanical solutions to performance spaces across the UK and beyond. With an exciting pipeline of projects, we are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to join our expanding and motivated team.

As part of the Projects department, you will work closely with clients, our in-house Design Engineers, and the Production and Installation teams to deliver stage engineering systems from concept through to completion. You will play a key role in the coordination, management, and successful delivery of multiple live projects—on time, on budget, and to a high standard.

Responsibilities will involve:

  • Taking ownership of project delivery from handover to completion
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors to develop solutions and manage expectations
  • Coordinating with internal departments (Design, Production, Procurement)
  • Preparing and managing project documentation, schedules, and budgets
  • Overseeing installations on-site, including site surveys and contractor coordination
  • Attending and contributing to client meetings and site inspections
  • Supporting health and safety planning and compliance throughout project phases

The successful applicant must have:

  • Experience working in a project engineering or project management role
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, or other similar 3D modelling software
  • Experience in mechanical engineering
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • A practical and flexible approach to problem-solving
  • A full UK driving licence

Desirable skills:

  • Experience using Revit
  • Familiarity with NEC or SBCC contract formats
  • CSCS card or site management qualifications

  • Confidence dealing with clients, suppliers, and contractors
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines
  • A proactive attitude and desire to see projects succeed
  • A willingness to be hands-on and visit sites as required

Competitive salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Indicative range: £35,000–£45,000, depending on experience.

Working Hours – 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Mon–Fri
